For the mainstream teacher with ELL students in your classroom, this is a must read. This book is full of those "if I only knew that last year" or "I wish I read this in August!" Get a jump start on next school year. The end of the book is packed with ideas to help you reach and teach the ELLs in your classroom.

5 out of 5 stars Short, precise, but full of information!   August 30, 2009

This is a handy little quick read for anyone that is studying teaching English as a second language or anyone just interested in differing cultures. I had to have this for a graduate program, but would have enjoyed reading it for leisure. It does not read as a textbook would, rather a more personal dialogue that makes one think about our interactions with those whose culture is not our own. I would definitely recommend this book!
