4 out of 5 stars Handbook of Instructional Leadership: How Successful Principals Promote Teaching and Learening   April 4, 2010
I found this handbook to be very informative and more specific in offering strategies than I had imagined, particularly due to the sources from which the information came. Teaching and learning can only take place in environments where individuals (especially teachers and students) feel valued, nurtured, and encouraged to do their best. It is difficcult to teach and learn under duress, when morale is low, and when individuals are not respected and treated as the professionals they have become. Teaching and learning are very natural processes and can only be achieved in environments conducive to allowing them to take place. I like the idea that the authors actually relied on the expertise, feelings and opinions of those who actually know and experience educational leadership daily to write their book.
